§ FAQ

The questions that come up before the call.

FAQ / 01 Do you do retainers?
Only the embedded fractional CTO product, and that one is capped-hour with a transparent monthly rate ($8K–$18K/mo). The audit and Ship-It Sprint are fixed-scope, fixed-fee. We are intentionally allergic to the open-ended-retainer model that produces invoices nobody on either side can defend.
FAQ / 02 Are you really one person?
Today, the principal does the work. We bring in a small bench of vetted partners (security review, design, federal-acquisition counsel) when an engagement specifically calls for them, and we say so on the SOW. We don't pretend to be a 30-person agency, and we don't sub the build out to anyone you haven't met.
FAQ / 03 Do you only build on Cloudflare?
We default to Cloudflare-native because it's faster, cheaper, and more sovereignty-friendly for the workloads we keep being asked to ship in 2026. We will absolutely build on AWS, GCP, or Azure when a customer's existing posture or compliance ceiling requires it — and we'll tell you up front if we think the platform pick is wrong.
FAQ / 04 How fast can you actually start?
Audits typically start within 7–10 business days of signature. Sprints start within 2–3 weeks. Embedded fractional CTO can start the next Monday if the legal paperwork is clean. We hold one open slot per quarter for federal-mission urgency.
FAQ / 05 What if we already have an internal team?
Even better. Our most productive sprints are with internal teams that need a force-multiplier on a specific subsystem (RAG retrieval, agent orchestration, AI Gateway hardening) without absorbing a full FTE. We work alongside, write code into your repo, and document everything so your team owns it the day we leave.
FAQ / 06 What about IP and code ownership?
Customer owns 100% of the engagement-specific code by default. Truvisory® retains rights to general-purpose libraries and tooling we wrote before the engagement (e.g. HotCopy CLI, internal Worker scaffolds). The standard MSA spells this out plainly; redlines welcome.
